Mudgeeraba home in exclusive Jabiru Estate listed, sold and rented within days

14 Sandyoke Court, Mudgeeraba, was listed, sold, listed and rented within a matter of days.

It has to be one of the fastest series of transactions in property history – a house in the exclusive Jabiru Estate in Mudgeeraba was listed, sold, relisted for rent and a tenant found all within a matter of days.

14 Sandyoke Court, Mudgeeraba, has a 25m lap pool.

The property at 14 Sandyoke Court was owned by Steve Dover, the head of mortgage broker eMoney, which sponsors the NRL’s Gold Coast Titans.

The architect-designed, award-winning house, which has a 25m heated indoor/outdoor lap pool sold for $3.7 million to an investor buyer not long after being listed and ahead of its scheduled auction on September 8.
The sale netted Mr Dover $500,000 profit after he bought the property in 2020 for $3.2 million.

Yet the sold sticker barely had time to go up on the home before it was replaced with a “for rent” sign, with the property back on the market with Harcourts for $3500 a week and a $14,000 bond. The listing states it is available from September 14.

14 Sandyoke Court, Mudgeeraba, is now rented for $3500 a week.

Within hours of the rent sign going up, the property was leased after Harcourts received offers from ten prospective and eager tenants.
The agency’s principal Dane Atherton has tipped Mudgeeraba to be one of best suburbs for investors during the upcoming spring selling season, saying he had a raft of potential tenants wanting to get a foothold in the area, which is home to the elite Somerset College.

The house is in the exclusive Jabiru estate.

Mr Dover, who owns a cattle farm in Bangalow and has other rural holdings and business interests, said the Jabiru Estate was the best place he had ever lived – and he has lived in some salubrious addresses during his 21 years on the Gold Coast, including Hedges Avenue, Monaco Street, the Liberty building in Main Beach and Clear Island Waters.

It has a half, basketball court and large outdoor entertaining area.

In fact, despite selling he won’t be moving far after having purchased a larger home in the same estate.
The properties are so close that Mr Dover turned up at the open for inspection for his new home on his ride-on lawn mower, much to the amusement of the agent and other house-hunters.
“It was probably a little unconventional, and I think the agent was a little bemused,” he said.
