A Gold Coast house bought for just $125,000 in the 1980s has sold for $2.6m.
The property at 16 Crest View Key, Broadbeach Waters has been held by the family since 1984 and sold off-market through Jay Helprin of Ray White Surfers Paradise Group.
Described as “rich with untapped potential”, the 531 sqm block included a two-level home with a pool.
“The seller is in her 90s,” Mr Helprin said.
“You don’t see many owners hold onto their property for that long these days.”

The property offered epic skyline views of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach Waters.
Mr Helprin said the waterfront block offered a skyline view of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
“The biggest selling point of this property is the view and 26m of water frontage,” he said.
The block included an 360sq m residence that offered dual living options across two levels. The ground floor included three bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan living and dining area while the second level included two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan living and dining area.

Outside there is a pool, built-in spa and timber deck.
Mr Helprin said the buyer planned to build their dream home on the block.
“The demand for properties in Broadbeach Waters is still quite strong,” Mr Helprin said,
“We’re seeing less supply at the moment which is really solidifying the market and allowing strong prices to be achieved.”
The sale price equated to $4896 per square metre.
“16 Crest View Key sold for almost 25 per cent more on a rate per square metre than the most recent comparable sale being 15 Monte Vista Court that sold in November last year,” Mr Helprin said.
PropTrack data shows the median house in Broadbeach Waters is $2.065m, up 5.4 per cent.
