Mega Gold Coast auction event attracts huge crowd

Buyers were out in force at a mega auction event on the Gold Coast that attracted 232 bidders and $57m worth of sales.
Twenty-six Ray White offices from across the Coast came together on Sunday for a mega auction experience, offering more than 100 properties for sale.
The Gold Coast Auction Experience, which was one of the largest in southeast Queensland, offers a range of properties from family homes, units and development blocks ranging from Coomera to Coolangatta.

More than 100 properties went under the hammer.
Collectively, the 26 offices recorded more than $57 million in sales with 232 registered bidders either attending or tuning in online and 174 actively bidding.
At the end of the day, the auction clearance rate stood at 73 per cent of the 101 lots.
The auction extravaganza also attracted 1,500 online viewers, all eager to take the pulse of the Gold Coast’s hot property market.

One of the top sales of the day was 1/13 Tabilban St, Burleigh Heads which sold for $1.95m under the hammer through Ray White Burleigh Group’s Troy Fitzgerald and Courtney Farrell.
The auction with the highest number of bidders was 43/47 Teemangum St, Currumbin which attracted 14 bidders and sold for $1.785m through Shane Seghers of Ray White Tugun – Elanora.

Ray White Queensland chief auctioneer Gavin Croft said the day’s success gave confidence to those looking to sell on the Gold Coast.
“Today was wonderful, to have the Gold Coast offices come together and work in such a collaborative fashion was most impressive,” Mr Croft said.
“Not only were the results amazing, in excess of 1,400 people joined us online and more than 350 people joined us over the course of the day.
“We had a real mix of buyers attending, with both apartments and family homes selling strongly.”

All up, 232 registered bidders attended or tuned in online.
Ray White Queensland CEO Jason Andrew said it was a remarkable day.
“The days of the Gold Coast being a speculative little market are far gone,” Mr Andrew said.
“It’s now a market that is incredibly mature and robust.
“The depth of the buyer pool across all price segments demonstrates this and is significant.”
