How Gold Coast couple found land to build their dream home on after years of searching

Nicole Ball and Nelson Azevedo, with daughter Soraya, are building at The Arbour at Burleigh Heads.
Gold Coast couple Nicole Ball and Nelson Azevedo spent years searching for the right block to build their dream home.
With a growing family, the young couple who are originally from Adelaide, said they were unable to find a block or existing home that met their needs.
“We were really set on living on the southern end of the Gold Coast as we love the lifestyle but the blocks that were available in the area were all too small to fit the large family home we wanted, and the existing homes on the market did not tick all our boxes,” Ms Ball said.

The couple eventually found Burleigh Heads’ newest community The Arbour and are among the first residents to get construction underway on their 626 sqm block.
“We were drawn to the community feel at The Arbour with its grassy parklands, green space and playgrounds,” Ms Ball said.
“We are looking forward to going for a stroll around the community in the evenings and having a brand-new playground on our doorstep will be so convenient.”

Houses are currently being built at Burleigh Heads community The Arbour.
The Arbour, developed by Villawood Properties, is a 20.75ha site and is one of the last developable parcels of land in Burleigh Heads with 101 homesites on offer.
Villawood Properties QLD general manager Michael Williams said it was exciting to see the community take shape.
“It is a joy to watch as The Arbour development morphs into the community we envisioned connected by a love of the picturesque Burleigh locale and a desire to foster the Australian dream of building the big family home with room for everyone to enjoy,” Mr Williams said.
“We look forward to seeing more families join this idyllic Burleigh community and begin to build their dream abodes to call home.”
