Inside Gold Coast hideaway that’s fit for a celebrity

149 The Panorama, Tallai is up for sale.
Perched high above the Gold Coast, a hinterland home has it all, offering privacy, panoramic views and a lifestyle rivalling the luxury homes of Beverley Hills.
For owner Anton Richardson, it was a property he simply had to have, first sighting the contemporary mansion after taking a wrong turn in 2016.
“I saw the house perched on the hill with these incredible views and thought ‘that must be the most stunning property’,” he said.
Make a splash in the pool.
The sprawling estate from the air.
There’s plenty of room on the estate.

By chance, the Tallai home soon became available and the moment he walked in, Mr Richardson fell in love.
“Your jaw drops when you walk in and you’re hit with these 10m high ceilings and huge configuration of windows that allow you to see the whole city skyline, including the ocean beyond the tree canopy,” he said.
“I told the owner straight away ‘I’m going to buy your property’.”
Soak up that view!
It’s more like a resort here.
With no shortage of spaces to relax.
That snap decision didn’t leave much room for negotiation, but Mr Richardson said he had relished every moment of his seven years in the sprawling five-bedroom, seven-bathroom hilltop home.
Set back from the road down a private driveway, the house faces due east on a 5360sq m block with never-to-be built out views of the entire Gold Coast skyline.
“That view is just incomparable,” Mr Richardson said.
“There’s nothing better than a coffee watching the sunrise, seeing the storms roll in is simply spectacular, during a full moon this place is incredible and to watch that skyline and the lights flickering at night takes your breath away.”
Inside is stylish and modern.
With the views on offer from almost every room.
The ultimate entertainer, the property features a heated infinity-edge swimming pool and spa, a pool house with shower, and an open-air terrace overlooking the pool.
Over the years, the property has enjoyed its fair share of events, ranging from catered dinner parties with friends right through to New Year’s Eve functions and birthday parties.
The property will go under the hammer on November 10.
Floor to ceiling windows show off the spectacular panorama.
“For one party, we converted the whole downstairs entertaining area into a Studio 54-style disco, complete with red carpet and disco balls,” Mr Richardson said.
“People attending reported they could see the lights of the house all the way from Robina.”
As a family home, he said it’s functional, spacious, private, and secure.
“To drive back there after work and be removed from the city in complete peace and serenity is just magical,” he said.
“It’s the most relaxed and calming experience, yet it’s only 20 minutes door-to-door from here to Broadbeach.”
There is plenty of space inside.
Another living area.
Since purchasing the property, Mr Richardson has made further additions, including a wet bar and entertaining area, landscaping, repainting and some final styling touches which he credits to his wife, Ekaterina.
“It’s only about 10 years old and was originally constructed with no expense spared by a builder as his family home.
“The attention to detail is incredible – from the way the tiles line up across different areas to how the windows are positioned internally and externally to capture the view and take in the natural light.”
Brad Coyne of Kollosche is taking the property to auction on November 10.
