“They had only seen photos,” said Kollosche agent Julia Kuo, who marketed the house alongside Sam Guo and Troy Dowker.
“They hadn’t seen the house before, they basically just walked in and bought it.
“They really liked the design of the house and the fact it was a display home.”
Don Cotterill, the owner of custom-home builder Sanctuary 28, is behind the head-turning property that was built as a display home to showcase what can be achieved when people think outside of the “cookie-cutter” box.

Mr Cotterill purchased the $700,000 block under the Sanctuary 28 banner on the corner of TE Peters Dr and Rio Vista Blvd in Broadbeach Waters in 2018.
Working with Gold Coast architect Paul Uhlmann, known for iconic residential designs such as the Copper House and the Floating house in Currumbin, they designed and built the Corner House.
“This was a one off, but I just felt it was a great opportunity,” Mr Cotterill said.
“We wanted this house to show the difference between a custom-built home and a display home done by a project builder.
“The Corner House highlights that every block is different and shows the importance of maximising on location.”

Since completion in 2020, the Corner House has done just that, with its brick and timber facade turning the heads of those who pass by it daily.
Spread across an awkward block on the corner of a busy T-junction, the home has dual front facades that cocoon the house, blocking out noise from the busy roads and creating a sense of tranquillity from the moment the front door opens.
