The ex-wife of disgraced former Billabong boss Matthew Perrin has caught a break with the $7.3m sale of her Cronin Island mansion.
Nicole Bricknell, a real estate agent with Cole Residential, marketed her designer home at 16 Southern Cross Dr, with agency director Nick Cole leading the sales campaign.
Ms Bricknell built the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home in 2016 after her former husband was convicted of defrauding a bank of $13.5m.

The home sold in just seven days to an overseas buyer.

Perrin was sentenced to eight years’ jail, but released on parole in 2019.
The riverfront home was built on a 979sq m lot right next door to the luxury home Ms Bricknell had shared with Perrin and their three children prior to his downfall.
It sold in just seven days to an overseas buyer who planned to relocate with family to the prestigious Surfers Paradise neighbourhood.

Three cash offers were received within the first week, with Ms Bricknell currently living in a Mermaid Beach unit following a swift settlement.
“I cannot believe how much free time I’ve got now that I’m not maintaining gardens,” she said.
“Instead of doing that, I’m out bike riding and walking. It’s a totally different lifestyle and it’s one that I’m really enjoying.”

Ms Bricknell said she had purchased a full-floor apartment off the plan in White Main Beach, which was expected to be completed by late 2022.
“The kids are all independent and doing their own thing now, and the time has come for me to downsize and I am going to enjoy apartment living,” Ms Bricknell said.
Ms Bricknell had previously taken the Cronin Island estate to auction in 2019, but after it passed in she decided to hold onto the home, which has 180 degree Main River and city skyline views.

During their time together, the Perrins made $57m from their investment in international surf brand Billabong. They owned several properties, including the building which housed Burleigh Head’s famous Fish House restaurant and sold for $5.5m in 2019.

The White project is part of Main Beach’s ongoing rejuvenation, as cashed-up interstate and local sea changers favour the low-maintenance, high-amenity lifestyle afforded by the new breed of spacious apartments.
Three-bedroom units in the tower are priced from $2.2m.
