HE shot to fame as a blond larrikin housemate on the reality show Big Brother – now you can live in Dan ‘Saxon’ Small’s luxury Gold Coast beach pad for $3,000 a week plus $12,000 bond.
Small, 39, entered the Big Brother house as a 19-year-old surfie from NSW’s Central Coast.
He’s now happily married to Mareete, his wife of three years, and a doting dad to their 11-month-old son, Banks.
The family’s showstopping home just steps from the sand along Palm Beach’s exclusive Jefferson Lne was built during Covid with Mactech Constructions and designer Jayson Pate.

One of two three-level villas dubbed ‘Jefferson’, features include a suspended glass pool, 4.6m raked ceilings, and custom rendering with cascading greenery.
With 480sqm of living space, the 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home has a 3-car basement garage, gym, walk-in wine-tasting cellar room, and a cinema.
But with bub on the move, Dan and Mareete, a 35-year-old law firm practice manager, want a place with a backyard and have listed their home for rent with Nicky Eastall, of Harcourts Coastal.

“The home is beautiful and very much designed to appeal to a high-end customer, and with a cinema room and a gym and multiple living areas it’s perfect for families who value separate living areas,” said Small, who works in marketing.
“It doesn’t have a large yard, which is great for families wanting a low-maintenance property, but a backyard is something I have great memories of myself as a child, so we thought we would put it up for rent and see what else is around on the Goldie.”
The property is available now and will be leased unfurnished.

Small said the big-ticket rental price was a fair reflection of the current market.
“It’s a challenging market at the moment. I think people are definitely a bit nervous about interest rates so they are watching their pennies.
“Obviously a lot less people are able to consider a property like ours for rent. But the price is a reflection of the quality of the home and the lifestyle it brings.”
Homes to rent are in hot demand on the Gold Coast, with the median weekly price for a four-bedroom house in the suburb up 10 per cent over the past year to $1,200.
PropTrack data shows 722 people interested renters competed for just 21 houses available in the past month.
“We’ll keep that place. It will be tough to find anywhere else as convenient and lifestyle-oriented and once you sell on Jefferson Lne it’s very difficult to get back in,” Small said.
“This is more about a period of our lives where we’re keen to try something different.”

“Seeing how incredible my wife has been with Banks has definitely made me excited for going through that process again – the pregnancy days and the early days with Banks, she was just incredible.
“We’d love to give Banks a brother or a sister at some point.”
Mactech director Nick McDonald and his wife, Brigitte, lived in the second villa next door, but sold for $3.85m in 2022 following a high-profile sales campaign with Ed Cherry, of Harcourts Coastal.
