THE director of a Melbourne company which produced millions of surgical face masks through the pandemic splashed $10.5 million on a Surfers Paradise mansion but never made the move to Queensland.
The spectacular Hamptons-style estate has remained vacant since it last sold in June 2022 and will go under the hammer on May 4.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom riverfront mansion at 125 Commodore Dr, Surfers Paradise is listed with Ray White Surfers Paradise agent Robbie Graham.
“The owner’s circumstances have changed. The family is not relocating to the Gold Coast, they are remaining in Melbourne and the property will be sold,” Mr Graham said.
Mr Graham did not comment on the identity of the owner.

Property records show the home on a 836sq m allotment is registered to the company name, GC Properties Australia Ptd Ltd. Denis Midor, of Toorak, is listed as the sole director.
Russian-born Mr Midor is also registered as the director of Softmed, a Melbourne medical goods supplier which in 2020 pivoted its production lines to manufacture face masks and other PPE to support Australia through the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Paradise Waters trophy home occupies the largest single block allotment in one of the city’s most expensive riverfront streets.
Designed by renowned architect Jared Poole, the three-storey house has views over one of the widest sections of Gold Coast waterways, while the front of the home overlooks the sportsgrounds of TSS private school.
