Supercar driver’s dream home with insane garage is up for grabs

A Gold Coast acreage property with an insane man cave featuring a 15-car hoist system stacked with supercars is for sale.
Owner-builder and supercar driver Steve Jakic, of Black Diamond Building and Construction, designed the sprawling Maudsland home to cater for the passions of all the family, including his horse-mad wife Melissa and their five children, aged 9 to 19.
But the five-bay tilt panel shed measuring just under 500 sqm makes the Lagoon Park Drive property a car enthusiast’s dream come true — even if Mr Jakic’s impressive collection isn’t included in the deal.

The luxury home on a 6,636 sqm in the Riverstone Crossing estate is marketed by Amir Prestige agent Rochelle Lamers and goes under the hammer on April 20.
“I’ve always had a love for cars, so it was important when I built this place as our forever home that it had space for all the toys,” said Mr Jakic, who recently contested the Mount Panorama circuit for the Aussie Racing Cars Super Series.
Those ‘toys’ include a new BMW G82 M4, raced by Mr Jakic in the Monochrome GT4 Australia series.

His stepson, Ryder Quinn, took the driver’s seat of a Type 992 GT3 for the Porsche Carrera Cup Championship season, which kicked off at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne in March.
The double garage and shed hosts Bendpac triple car stackers imported from the US, along with a two-post mechanical hoist, workshed and mezzanine entertaining lounge, gym, and cavernous underground storage space.
Mr Jakic said he couldn’t put a price on how much the deluxe man cave cost to build.
“If I counted it all up, I would probably cry,” he joked.
“I just did it in stages — sketched it out on a piece of paper and made it happen, then saved up to do the next stage.”

The home itself has a dedicated children’s wing with six bedrooms, three bathrooms, a media room and lounge and a commercial-grade laundry, along with a private master bedroom suite opening onto a patio.
Other features include a tiered home cinema, games lounge with bar and an office.
Open-plan living and dining spaces flow via glass stacker doors to the al fresco terrace with barbecue kitchen and bar, while travertine tiling extends around the pool and cabana.
There’s also an outdoor fire pit and playground, horse sheds and paddocks.

“We have renovated the property over time so there were no shortcuts taken. I specialise in commercial construction so everything is done from concrete and built to last,” Mr Jakic said.
“Everyone has their own special space, but I think we all love the summers when we are home together by the pool.
“The kids were born here, we’ve had a lot of birthday celebrations and a whole lot of good memories over the years.
“It is going to be hard to leave but we’ve had an opportunity for another special project so we are moving on,” he said.
Ms Lamers described the property as a “dream haven to raise your family”.
“We’ve definitely seen an increase in inquiries from people who are wanting the flexibility and the security and privacy that the acreage lifestyle offers,” Ms Lamers said.
“There are still a lot of families who are migrating from the southern states and plan on working from home who are looking for residences like this.
“When they come on the market they generally don’t last very long, and definitely with a property like this where nothing has been left out as far as functionality and lifestyle appeal,” she said.
PropTrack data shows house prices in Maudsland were up 7.2 per cent to a median of $969,000.
