“I was living in Sydney at the time and when I saw it advertised I was looking for an investment on the Gold Coast,” Ms Arthur, who now lives in another residence on Chevron Island, said.
“I was blown away by the position.
“It was the position first with the view across the river and then it was the retro features.”
The kitchen has been modernised.
The townhouse has an open-plan design overlooking the river.
Among its original features is its flooring, floating terrazzo staircase and stone feature wall.
“The most magnificent feature is the staircase,” Ms Arthur said.
“It’s floating terrazzo steps with a solid timber balustrade handrail against the stone.
“I would be heart broken if someone smashed it out.
“I actually wish I could take it out and put it in my place.”
Other features include a modern kitchen with Bosch dishwasher, riverside patio and single carport.
The townhouse is part of a complex with 11 other apartments as well as a communal swimming pool.

Ms Arthur said she had mixed feelings about selling.
“It’s quite bittersweet in a way,” she said.
“I work in the travel industry and with Covid, that’s been impacted and made me rethink things. I’m close to my retirement age and I just don’t need it.”
