New Gold Coast villas modelled on Burleigh’s famous property The Palms

A JAW-DROPPING new build on the Gold Coast is set to rival one of Burleigh’s most photographed houses.
Burleigh’s The Palms was so popular when it hit the market last year it “almost broke the internet”.
Now, there’s a new property set to impress and the people behind it had one simple brief – “take everything we love” from The Palms to a whole new level of luxury.

The yet-to-be-built Villa Eden at Mermaid Waters has been designed by JG Building Projects, who also designed and built The Palms.
The Palms, regarded as one of the state’s most photographed and influential properties of 2021, was snapped up by tennis superstar Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec last year.

The Palms sold to tennis superstar Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec for $4.305 million last year.
But not before Melbourne developers Michaela Menichelli and Dr Ashley Campbell-Bird toured it.
The pair is the driving force behind Villa Eden and after just one visit to The Palms, knew they wanted to create their own version.
“When we came across The Palms we immediately fell in love with everything about it, so the brief was simple – take everything we love from that property to a whole new level of luxury,” Dr Campbell-Bird said.
“Our goal for the Villa Eden development was to transport the owners to another world so incorporating natural materials, neutral tones, curves, voids, an abundance of natural light, and incredible views of the waterway were really important to us.

The developers of Villa Eden took inspiration from The Palms.

“Unique architectural features set the tone of the villas, and the luxurious natural materials and a neutral colour palette create an overwhelming sense of calm.
But he said the star feature was the custom helix staircase that commands attention the minute you walk through the door.
Villa Eden will be built on a north facing waterfront block at 17 Drayton Terrace, Mermaid Waters – the pair paid $1.9m for the block in July, 2021.
The property will be subdivided to include two villas – each with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a rooftop deck and pool.

Kingfisher Realty principal Conal Martin, who was part of the team who sold The Palms, is marketing Villa Eden through an expressions of interest campaign.
He said he was expecting a similar level of interest.
“Villa Eden perfectly exemplifies JG Building Projects’ commitment to an elevated level of luxury and class, so we expect this property to rival the number of record-breaking viewings we had when their last listing was on the market,” he said.
“It really is the hallmark of sophisticated coastal living and it perfectly aligns exceptional high-end design with the signature Gold Coast beach lifestyle.
“The incredible north-to-water aspect creates the ultimate resort lifestyle, and the stunning views of Broadbeach and Surfers Paradise city skyline from the rooftop deck, particularly at night, will be breathtaking.
“Who wouldn’t want to live here?”
Villa Eden is expected to be built by August 23, 2022.
