When Shannon Koryzma was given a blank canvas to design and build a home befitting of its aspirational main river position, he knew exactly what he wanted it to be – a quality build that capitalised on the coastal lifestyle and had real wow factor.
The property has been styled by Coco Republic, and all the furniture is available through separate negotiation.
You don’t need to look too hard at the home standing at 27 Namatjira Court in Broadbeach Waters to know that he has achieved his brief.
And the country seems to agree, with the property becoming the third most viewed on realestate.com.au since its launch last week and the second most viewed property in Queensland.

The house has a 14m pool.
“Being on the water we wanted it to have a coastal feel, something that wasn’t going to date,” said Mr Koryzma, the founder of family-owned building company Koryzma Constructions.
“The water was the main thing we wanted to capitalise on and we designed the back part of the house so when you walk in you can see the canal from every room, except of course from the secondary bedrooms which are at the front of the home,” he said.

Much in this abode is supersized, from the near 5m kitchen bench to a soaring 5.8m void that runs the length of the living spaces.
While helping to optimise air and light, design elements such as this can also create a problem in a build – large swathes of white blank walls.
Wood features can be found throughout the house.
To overcome this in the living room, Mr Koryzma designed and built a Scandinavian-style wood panel installation to sit above the dual biofuel fireplaces, bringing warmth into what could have become a clinical space.
A double-height void runs the length of the living spaces.
His use of wood is repeated in the staircase and other parts of the property to create a sense of cohesion throughout the large family home.
This technique is repeated with other materials, too. Geometric ceramic tiles used beside the pool and in the sunken poolside seating area are repeated on the stairs outside the study.

It is well thought-out design elements such as these, which appear throughout the house, that give it wow factor.
The study, for instance, has glass walls and almost appears to float over the surrounding landscaped gardens.
Greenery is a big thing in this home and glass panelling used in unusual places, such as underneath the fireplaces, give the impression of being surrounded by plants, without having to bring them into the home.

At its heart, though, this property was built to capitalise on the Gold Coast’s warm weather and outdoor lifestyle.
“We’re on the coast so we wanted to ensure there were a lot of spaces that allow you to enjoy that,” Mr Koryzma said.
With a 14m pool and spa, fire pit, barbecue area, alfresco dining area and pontoon, the home is well-equipped to host a large summer soirée.
Water views can be captured from almost every room.
“It’s in a really quiet street and only about five minutes’ drive to the beach.
“There’s not too much around Broadbeach for sale and not wanting to blow my own trumpet, I do think it’s one of the better homes on the market at the moment,” Mr Koryzma said.
