The pair, who owns Project X, plans to knockdown the existing house to make way for a one-of-a-kind Spanish-inspired showstopper.
“We did think we were renovating but it is now a complete knockdown,” Ms Sweeny said of the three-bedroom shack.
“It will be a big build – we’re going up two levels and having a rooftop.”

The second project for Emma Sweeny and Matt Jamieson of Project X.
While the designs are in the planning stages with renowned Gold Coast designer Jayson Pate Design, the couple plans to visit Spain in July where they will holiday and gather house inspiration.
We’re mixing old Spanish style with new,” Ms Sweeny said.
“We will have a lot of columns and arches. It’s going to be insane.”
And there will still be plenty of render thanks to Mr Jamieson’s rendering business Render X.
“We will stick with what we know as well,” Ms Sweeny said.

The house will be knocked down to make way for their Spanish-inspired abode.
The pair, who enjoyed two months at RUIN X before it sold, moved into their new digs last week – a big change from a new build to a rundown shack.
“You have to laugh,” Ms Sweeny said.
“We’ve got no pantry, Bunnings clothes racks and we’re really back to minimal living.
“It’s definitely different but at the end of the day we know our end goal again
“We’re still humble people and we’re loving this shack.”

The pair hopes to knock the house down in September and are predicting the build to take up to a year.
“We are just so excited to get started,” Ms Sweeny said.
They have again enlisted Bradford Constructions for their project.
Ms Sweeny and Mr Jamieson took their first project, a Burleigh Waters house named RUIN X, to auction in March.

RUIN X sold for $2.713888 million under the hammer.

It sold for $2.713888 million to 26-year-old Melbourne man Christopher Shao.
The couple, who paid $775,000 for the house in December 2020, spent five months renovating it.
RUIN X was known for its floor to ceiling render, arches and curves.

“We wanted to create a home that had wow factor, a first-of-its-kind, you felt comfortable and welcomed as soon as you walked in, an entertainer’s dream, minimal (and) an incredible layout,” Ms Sweeny said.
“We will never play it safe as we are creating homes.”
The pair bought their new Broadbeach Waters property before it hit the market through Trent Reid of John Reid Real Estate.
