Gold Coast homeowners like to push boundaries when it comes to design but this Surfers Paradise vendor takes it to the next level with a giant pink giraffe.
Owner Cesar Solis, who designed the home, said he wanted a point of difference when creating La Rosa, a new four-bedroom residence at 30 Via Roma, Isle of Capri.
“Every time I design a house I try to do something that grabs attention or is a point of difference,” Mr Solis said.
“The giraffe was chosen because the animal symbolises elegance and is gentle.”
The giraffe is the “protector” of the house.
The property blends indoor living with an effortless alfresco lifestyle.
Described as a property with Mediterranean, Arabic and Asian influences that also incorporates a Gold Coast twist, La Rosa blends indoor living with an effortless alfresco lifestyle.
“The aim is to transport you from the everyday into your dream home,” Mr Solis said.

Even at night, the house is a showstopper.

The 5m giraffe, made form marine plywood timber, stands tall beside the pool, and is attracting plenty of attention from the street.
“Because we designed and built the house during Covid, when you see the giraffe it’s actually holding a light,” Mr Solis said.
“It’s basically symbolising the hard times of Covid and the fact the house was a collaboration with all the employees and trades.
“I wanted to keep the giraffe as a reminder of how we all came together during Covid to create this beautiful house.”

The attention to detail was meticulous in this build.
And the giant animal is included with the sale of the house.
“The way that we have put the giraffe at the entrance, I wanted it to be the protector of the house,” Mr Soli said.
Mr Solis, who runs Solis Estudio, worked with builder Grant Fielder of August Homes to bring the two-level showstopper to life.
The house opens to the courtyard.
Your own piece of paradise.
Having previously worked on about 20 projects together, the pair found the block of land in 2020, then set about designing a luxury residence.
“We wanted to create a space that you would enter and never want to leave,” Mr Solis said.
The home is entered via an arch-shaped tunnel decked out with glistening glass tiles.
“When you walk through, the light reflects and it has this feeling of a magical grotto.”

Beyond, is a courtyard complete with twin pergolas and a swimming pool, while fuchsia bougainvillea adds a pop of colour.
“As soon as you go through the tunnel and into the courtyard it opens up into this stunning indoor/outdoor space,” Mr Solis said.
“It’s built with ease of living in mind so you can go to the beach, come home, walk in, jump straight in the pool, then have an outdoor shower.”
Feel like you’re on holiday everyday.
The kitchen.
The lower floor dining and entertaining areas transition into the courtyard via retractable glass panelled doors, while the master bedroom boasts its own private outdoor terrace, complete with bathtub and built-in seating area.
A separate office area is situated adjacent to the entry tunnel, while upstairs there are three additional bedrooms and a lounge area with views of the Surfers Paradise skyline.
Mr Solis explained the home coupled beauty with functionality.
“It’s not about trends but about how people would use the house,” he said.
“It’s about using simple elements that create a sense of romance and deliver something alluring and ethereal that also embraces the Gold Coast weather.”
Arches are a common theme.
The outdoor bath.
Adding to that romantic feel is a built-in bed canopy in the master suite along with an oversized walk-in wardrobe that doubles as a dressing room, and a bathroom which rivals those found in the finest hotels.
Items used in the property’s construction have been sourced from around the globe, and its international influence is evident in everything from the home’s arched windows to the imported limestone flooring, and the marble benchtops in the kitchen.
Even the home’s exterior has been carefully considered, with a mature olive tree acting as a feature and each section of the property’s limestone cladding hand cut and meticulously positioned.

As for who the property might suit, Mr Solis said it had been designed with a range of potential buyers in mind.
“It’s perfect for downsizers who don’t want to compromise on luxury finishes,” he said.
“But it’s also ideal for a family, and it’s a beautiful house for a couple or those with extended family.
“I feel like everyone falls in love with this house the moment they walk in, and that’s when you know you’ve achieved your goal.”
