Coastal barn dream home under contract for record price

The Coastal Barn Dream home at Kingsholme sold for $2.667m, setting a new suburb record.

An Instagram-famous dream home inspired by a country barn by the sea has sold for $2.667m — smashing the house price record in QLD’s emerging luxury acreage suburb of Kingsholme.
The stunning sale price eclipsed the previous highest residential sale in the northern Gold Coast suburb by almost $700,000, following a marketing campaign which sent buyers into a tailspin.
The sprawling all-white home known as Coastal Barn Dream was the nation’s most viewed property for sale on realestate.com.au when it hit the market in June.

Owner Lauren Eloise documented the build on social media.

It was marketed by Emil Juresic and Rachael Savic, of NGU Real Estate.
Mr Juresic said the buyers were a QLD family impressed by the home’s spacious layout over a single storey.
“They saw this was just a perfect family home. You have a basketball court, a great pool, a massive shed.
“The owner has done an absolutely spectacular job in designing the home and the buyers are a family with kids who can’t wait to enjoy it,” he said.

The sprawling home has four living areas over a single level.

The sales contract was expected to go unconditional on Friday.
Owner Lauren Eloise has built a social media following of more than 50,000 since documenting the build of the striking 535sq m home.
It was built on a .42ha block over five months in 2019, in the Montego Hills estate by Villawood Properties in the semi-rural growth corridor.

Kingsholme posted regional QLD’s strongest house price growth of 72 per cent over the 12 months to June, with 16 sales and a median price of $1.185m, REA Group data shows.
Mum-of-five Lauren said the home’s design was inspired by her country upbringing, beach holidays, and her studies through the Three Birds Renovation styling school.
“It was always the plan for this home to be our forever home, but life doesn’t always go to plan and other bigger and better opportunities are thrown your way and sometimes you run with them and follow your dreams,” she said.
“It really will be a sad day to say goodbye to what was supposed to be our forever home, but I can’t wait to put my creative mind to something new.”

Mr Juresic said Kingsholme’s newly built designer homes had found favour with cashed-up buyers prioritising space and lifestyle in the wake of the pandemic.

There’s five bedrooms to accommodate the large family.

“Homes we have put on the market there have literally sold in days. It is an absolutely beautiful new acreage estate. You just don’t find any ugly homes there,” Mr Juresic said.
The previous highest sale was $2m in April for a four-bedroom home with an outstanding outdoor entertaining space built on a 4,047sq m block.
