Miami, Gold Coast shack passed in at $6 million

72 Marine Pde, Miami passed in at $6 million.
SUN, waves, and an ice cream stand.
It was a quintessential Gold Coast auction at Miami on Friday when an original beach shack at 72 Marine Pde was offered to the market.
About 50 people crammed into the upstairs living room as auctioneer Justin Nickerson of Apollo Auctions kicked off proceedings at 12 noon.

What an outlook!

Bidding started at $4.36 million with six more bids before stalling at $5.6 million for negotiations.
Fifteen minutes later and the highest bidder raised their bid to $6 million before the property was passed in.
The property had no shortage of interest since it hit the market earlier this month with more than 150 inquiries, according to Kollosche agent Carlie Mills, who marketed the property alongside principal Michael Kollosche.

“It’s one of the last remaining shacks along Marine Pde and obviously properties likes this don’t come up often,” Ms Mills said.
“It’s a 678sq m block with over 12m of frontage which has been driving up demand.
“Most blocks in Mermaid Beach and Miami are 405sq m with 10m frontage.”
The blue shack, complete with a white picket fence, original timber flooring, and timber veneer cabinetry, has buyers torn on whether to hold, renovate or rebuild.

The vendors paid $3.7 million for the property in January, 2020, and a change of circumstances meant they needed to now sell.
Miami has experienced rapid growth over the city’s Covid property boom, with houses up a staggering 103.1 per cent over three years to a median of $1.5 million, PropTrack data reveals.
