IT’S all white, has a splash of Hamptons, a hint of the Mediterranean and a swoon-worthy pool house.
Welcome to Hillie House — a coastal-inspired home set among a tropical backdrop in Ashmore.
Owners Keri-Lee Paterson and Sean Ross, who run real estate photography and videography company Felt Imagery, are the brains behind 82 Currumburra Rd, which is now on the market.
The couple bought the property in 2019 before transforming it into their own suburban oasis complete with a self-contained pool house.
“We were lucky enough to buy the house with the pool already installed with lots of beautiful established palms so the rest of the house was kind of built around that as a feature,” Ms Paterson said.
“We were so inspired by the layout of the house and the different levels around the pool
“We definitely saw that it had such potential upon first viewing.”
Ms Paterson said they had a clear vision for the property from the start.
“As property photographers, we see a lot of beautiful homes and took inspiration from a number of properties we have photographed over the years,” she said.
“We wanted to keep everything light and natural and also quite neutral so that you could add furnishings and pops of colour to make it your own.
“The house has such a beautiful airy feel to it now.
“It really does feel like a little oasis.”
The main three-bedroom house packs a punch with a showstopper entrance leading to an open plan kitchen, dining and living area.
A separate pool house, known as Hillie Pool House, includes a kitchenette, courtyard and bedroom and has been an income-earner for the family via short-term holiday letting.
“The pool house was a vision we had very early on and we knew we wanted to convert the old garage so that it could be looking out over the pool and we hoped it could bring in some extra income to help with the renovations,” Ms Paterson said.
“The benefit of having it run as an Airbnb is that we are still able to enjoy the house fully in between guests and be able to let others enjoy the space.”
The theatre is the family’s favourite spot.
But it is the home theatre that impresses the family most, complete with fibre optical star ceiling, mini bar fridge and recliner chairs.
“I would love to say the pool is our favourite feature but in all honesty, it’s the mini theatre,” Ms Paterson said.
“It started off as a possible cubby house for the kids but Sean had this idea to build the world’s smallest theatre and now it’s the favourite hang out spot for the whole family.
“We love that it’s detached from the house so it feels like you’re somewhere else.”
While the couple have enjoyed their time at Hillie House, they have decided to sell to focus on other projects.
“As sad as we are to leave the house, we feel like it’s a good time for us to move on and start another project somewhere new and let someone else enjoy what we’ve created,” Ms Paterson said.
The property is going to auction through LJ Hooker Broadbeach’s Sean Clifton on November 12.
“From the tropical pool and entertaining space to the home theatre to the guesthouse Hillie Pool House – this is one home you don’t want to miss,” Mr Clifton said.
