Luxury developer Graya has lodged plans for a nine-storey apartment tower in Palm Beach as the company prepares to bring its cutting-edge brand of design to the Gold Coast.
Headed up by brothers, Rob and Andrew Gray, Graya has carved a niche building showstopping Brisbane homes for high-profile clients, including rugby league great Darius Boyd and his wife Kayla, rapper Example and his wife, model Erin McNaught, and rugby players, Quade Cooper and Israel Folau.
In 2023, the company will shift focus to the southeast coastal corner, with a pipeline of four projects in Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads and Mermaid Beach.
The unique nine-storey tower proposed for Jefferson Lne, Palm Beach
Rob Gray said the Gold Coast offered “unrivalled opportunity”.
“Not only is it one of Australia’s best-performing real estate markets, but the opportunity for growth and further development is unrivalled as more and more global and interstate buyers look to the lifestyle it offers,” he said.
The proposal submitted to council this week was for a 29m-high building on Palm Beach’s beachside stretch of Jefferson Lne.
Andrew Gray said the project was named ‘Kloud’ for its striking free-form design.
“We opted for the name Kloud as it reflects our vision to bring sky homes that float above the horizon, with long views along the beach to Burleigh Headland in the north and Currumbin Headland to the south,” he said.
Kloud comprises a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom apartments
Prices start from $1.3m
Kloud comprises 20 apartments on an 810sq m site, including a penthouse as well as nine two-bedroom units priced from $1.3m, five three-bedroom units from $2.8m, and six four-bedroom apartments from $2.95m.
Rob said the company was managing all aspects of project design, development and construction in order to avoid the uncertainty around price hikes and labour shortages which had rocked the industry this year.
Graya has already lodged plans for its other upcoming Palm Beach development, ‘Ripple’, a nine-apartment tower on an absolute beachfront site on Palm Beach Ave.

“When selecting a site, we look closely at all of the fundamentals — demand, future infrastructure investment, and lifestyle,” Rob said.
“After carefully assessing these criteria, it was a no-brainer when selecting Palm Beach as the ideal location for our next multi-residential development.”
“We’re looking forward to bringing our award-winning track record to the Gold Coast and showcasing our innovative design and construction capabilities. As with all our builds, no expense has been spared with a view to set a new benchmark in beachside luxury living,” said Rob.

Dune master bedroom
Rob and his wife, Megahn, sold their Graya-designed mansion in Paddington for a record $8.2m in November, with the couple planning to relocate to Burleigh Heads with their baby boy, Hays.
They will build ‘Dune’, a five-bedroom Moroccan-inspired mansion with a glamorous rooftop pool and al fresco area after acquiring an oceanview site in May for $2.78m.
“We plan on this home becoming a flagship project for Graya on the Gold Coast,” said Rob.
Graya’s fourth local project is another luxury home build on a triple block in Hedges Ave, Mermaid Beach, known as ‘multimillionaire’s row’.
