SkyRidge: Display home fetches sky-high price

A $2.8m display home has topped sales at a Worongary estate where demand was so intense a ballot was held for the chance to buy land when the development first launched.
The double-storey house set a new benchmark within the masterplanned SkyRidge community, which will become home to more than 10,000 people once completed in 2036.
Metricon’s luxury four-bedroom, two-bathroom Waterford 46 display home on a 512 sqm block is the most expensive sale in the $1.5bn development — and ranks among the highest residential transactions in the central Gold Coast suburb overall.

SkyRidge project director Chris Alston, of CRA Group, said the sale was a milestone, reflecting continued strong demand through staggered release of ten lots at a time within the 342ha development. Just under 350 lots have sold to date.
“This landmark sale underscores the desirability of SkyRidge as one of Queensland’s top lifestyle destinations,” Mr Alston said.
“The Waterford display home encapsulates everything buyers are looking for — luxury, versatility, and a connection to a thriving masterplanned community.”
Lyle Kenny, Gold Coast City Mayor Tom Tate, Chris Alston and Councillor Glen Tozer launching the development in 2021.
Construction commenced in 2020, with developers Perron Group staging a lottery after more than 15,000 people registered to secure one of 3,500 homes to be built over ten years.
The first residents moved into the estate last month, with 118 buyers finalising their purchase of lots in stages two and three.
Works are currently underway to produce the next 350 lots in SkyRidge’s first sold-out neighbourhood, The Ascent, expected to be completed later this year. Major infrastructure is also being built in the next neighbourhood, Botanica.

Metricon Queensland state sales manager Josh Darling said the deal highlighted “surging demand” for high-spec newly built homes in the region.
“We’re thrilled by the result. The $2.8m sale of our Waterford display home is a testament to the design and quality that Metricon delivers.
“This record-breaking sale reflects the rising demand for premium homes in sought-after communities like SkyRidge,” Mr Darling said.
