An interstate buyer splashed $4.55m to put a stop to the scheduled auction of a luxury apartment within a sold-out beach tower.
It was the Gold Coast’s biggest sale of the week reported to realestate.com.au, and marked the first re-sale at the newly completed Cala Dei Residences opposite Greenmount Beach.
Kollosche agents Troy Dowker and James Roberts handled the sale of the third-floor apartment at 301-144 Marine Pde, Coolangatta.
Brisbane-based Spyre Group had sold all 30 units off the plan within weeks of launching the oceanfront project in 2021.

Mr Dowker said the listing attracted strong interest, with more than 100 enquiries and 56 groups inspecting the three-bedroom, three-bathroom property over 25 days before the pre-auction deal was closed.
Some potential buyers had missed out during the developer’s campaign, while others were more recently attuned to the growth market’s appeal.
PropTrack data shows unit prices in Coolangatta were up 11.6 per cent over the past month, to a median of $1.055m.

“The buyers were from interstate but they know the southern Gold Coast area really well, and they were impresed by the beautiful product which has been delivered here, which is a testament to both the developer and the architect,” Mr Dowker said.
He said the units’ generous floorplan suited use as a permanent or part-time base for couples or older families.
Features included 224 sqm of interior space with open-plan living and dining areas and a luxurious kitchen with a 4.6m marble island.

Full-height windows framed spectacular beach views, while a large balcony was ideal for entertaining.
The master bedroom has a walk-in robe and open ensuite with a bathtub, and there’s a separate wing with a media room providing additional living space and separation for families.
“This is the newest building at Greenmount and we had a lot of enquiry on it. I think the architect has really hit the mark in a lot of ways, and the buyer plans on spending as much time as possible in their new home,” Mr Dowker said.
Cala Dei was built on the site of the former Komune Resort, comrpising a mix of two and three-bedroom apartments and a penthouse which originally sold in excess of $7m to a local buyer.
