Sanctuary Cove: The exclusive QLD community where everyday’s a holiday

The coveted gated community of Sanctuary Cove – in the Gold Coast suburb of Hope Island – is described by locals as akin to living in a resort. A sense of calm ripples through its architect-designed homes, flourishing village and shimmering marina.

From here, residents can hit several beaches within 20 minutes and arrive at the Gold Coast Airport to catch a flight in 40 minutes, with the choice to return home by car, boat or even helicopter.

Then again, they can just as happily stay put in their magnificent residences, likely overlooking beautiful waterways and national parks.

According to Andrew Bell of Ray White Surfers Paradise Group, arriving at Sanctuary Cove puts one immediately at ease.

He says the area was created with privacy and security at the forefront. Even now, he says, it remains “a slice of heaven” regardless of the urban sprawl around it.

“The concept was for an integrated resort with an international hotel, a village shopping precinct, two golf courses and marine and sports recreation facilities,” says Bell.

“Since it was launched to the world at a concert in 1986, with Frank Sinatra being the headline singer, Sanctuary Cove has never looked back and only surpassed these visions.”

Beyond the benefits afforded by 24-hour security behind closed gates, Bell speaks of the many other advantages valued by residents.

“There’s easy access to the thriving village, a choice of two stunning golf courses, wonderful walking tracks and the ability to park small to very large boats either at your own private jetty or the world-class marina,” Bell says.

“There’s simply nowhere on the Gold Coast that rivals the type of lifestyle that is obtainable at Sanctuary Cove.”

Equally passionate about Sanctuary Cove, the retailers found at the world-class Marine Village add further pizzaz to the area.

There is a selection of ever-evolving cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, such as the gifts and homewares shop Cabana and Cabana Kids, owned by Liliana Rogers.

“Sanctuary Cove is growing into an amazing world-class destination, with constantly new and upgraded facilities becoming available not only for the locals but also visitors who are always welcomed with open arms,” she says.

“It truly has a distinct resort feeling, where people are never too hurried as though they are on holiday every day.”

Rogers lives in Hope Island and says Sanctuary Cove is not only where she runs her businesses but also where she spends much of her leisure time and attempts to try a different restaurant each week.

“There are many activities always happening, but my favourite time of the year is Christmas when it becomes even more special with all the decorations up, appearing like a fairy-tale,” Rogers says.

“It’s not hard to see why everyone is so proud to be part of this community.”
