The Gold Coast castle that was used as the backdrop for Australian actor Paul Hogan’s biopic is going to auction.
A Gold Coast castle that was used as the backdrop for Australian actor Paul Hogan’s rags-to-riches biopic has hit the market.
Known as Gilston Manor, the sprawling estate is set on 2.26ha of land on the western Gold Coast.
The sellers bought the house, which includes hand-cut limestone, a moat, marble staircase and Italian marble, in 2020.

The house was fitted out with French, German and Italian products with a range of timbers used for the doors and window fittings and seven different types of marble.

Amir Prestige Group agents Alex and Victoria Fleri, and Nick Zhang are taking the property to auction on November 30.
Mr Fleri said the house would be “hot property” among the film industry.
“A new buyer can expect a level of interest from movie producers,” Mr Fleri said.
“There’s not many properties that can create that European feel here on the Gold Coast and properties like Gilston Manor are in high demand.”
