Pastor blitzes 20 other bidders at charity home auction

Proceeds from the home sale went to charity
Guide Dogs Australia will receive a sizeable chunk from the $951,000 sale under the hammer of a Robina home, as per the wishes of the late owner.
Aussie expat pastor Joshua O’Sullivan made the top offer for the deceased estate, which was hotly contested by 21 bidders at the weekend auction.
The property on a 773 sqm lot was listed by Ben Williams, of Re/Max Real Estate, on behalf of the Public Trustee, and auctioned by Rob Doorey, of Apollo Auctions.
The entire sale price was donated to nominated charities, with Guide Dogs Australia a main beneficiary.

The pool was a top selling point for families
Mr Doorey fielded an opening bid of $800,000, with a total of 35 bids received before Mr O’Sullivan topped up the penultimate offer with another $1,000 to take the keys.
“The winning bidder jumped in at $900,000 and went toe-to-toe with an overseas investor and won the auction with a $1,000 bid,” Mr Williams said.
“With 21 registered bidders on the day I thought we may hit $1m, but $951,000 is a good price considering the condition of the property.
“Six building and pest inspections were completed and all failed because the property is in disrepair, so $951,000 is absolutely fair market value.”
Mr Williams said the sale price was fair given the property’s condition
The buyers will move in and renovate

Mr O’Sullivan recently returned to the Gold Coast with his wife Yuki and their 5 children to open a new chruch, Sozo Gold Coast, after 15 years living in Japan.
The family had been renting in the neighbourhood and will move into their new home to begin repairs and renovations.
The original 1989-built lowset house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a pool, and drew strong interest through the marketing campaign due to its central location within walking distance to a school and golf course.
