Palm Springs stunner is Qld’s most-viewed home

79 Rumrunner Street, Mermaid Waters.
A CACTUS garden, pink door and dreamy al fresco set-up are some of the Palm Springs-inspired finishes at this Mermaid Waters property crowned Queensland’s most popular home of the week.
The eye-catching near-new build on a 717sq m block at 79 Rumrunner St attracted more views than any other home listed for sale on realestate.com.au, latest PropTrack data shows.
A personal project for Gold Coast builder Ben Daly, of Daly Projects, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home, named ‘Casa Sirena’, is marketed by Conner Malan and Daniel Donovan, of Ray White, and goes under the hammer on Sunday.
Mr Daly said the build incorporated a wish-list of features to create a family sanctuary to share with wife, Maddison Smith, and their young son.
The pool and cabana
Holiday vibe
“There were so many things that I just had to have and so many features included – like the venetian plaster in the wet areas, the landscaping, privacy fencing and engineered hardwood timber floors,” Mr Daly said.
And for Ms Smith, Mr Daly’s quest to create a year-round resort-style haven was a mission accomplished.
“It doesn’t feel like I am in a house, it feels like I am on holiday every day,” Ms Smith said.
“I spend so much time in the cabana by the pool with my baby, enjoying everyday resort-style living.”
The home is landscaped with palms and cactii.

Even the couple’s dog has benefitted from Mr Daly’s clever design features, especially the expansive skylights in the main living area.
“The morning sun coming through the skylights is amazing,” Ms Smith said.
“And the dog will chase the sunlight through the house all day — moving to different spots to lie in the suns ray.”
The spacious and sunny entertainer is ideally positioned in a quiet residential pocket less than 2km from Mermaid Beach and 4km from Broadbeach.
