Inside Palm Hill. There’s plenty of space to entertain.
The property was a passion project for owners Angie and Reece Bajada, who poured every ounce of their collective interior design and construction skills into the home after purchasing the site in 2020.
“We had just finished a renovation at Benowa Waters and were open to looking for our next project,” Mrs Bajada said.
“We turned up here to this 1970s home, walked through, saw the view, looked at each other and said, ‘this is it’.”

While the potential of the property was alluring, Mrs Bajada said realising their vision proved a major endeavour, involving extensive earthworks and the full knockdown and rebuild of the previous house.
“We wanted an open home with a flow between the indoors and outdoors that took advantage of the view as much as possible,” Mrs Bajada said.
“There were a lot of earthworks to be done as we built extra retaining walls, a bigger house pad, and extra driveway and we also changed the position of the pool.”

The result is a light, bright airy home, with 180-degree views from almost every room, including the lounge, kitchen, and dining area, along with the master bedroom.
“We wanted it to feel like our own retreat where we could unwind, relax and switch off,” Mrs Bajada said.
“The natural light that comes through the home, particularly in the living area, is phenomenal and watching the sunrise is magical.
“You get views of all the fireworks up and down the coast at New Years and when there’s an airshow you can see all the planes.”

The house’s open plan layout and seamless integration of indoor and outdoor living areas lends itself to entertaining, with the property playing host to birthday gatherings along with regular dinner parties and barbecues.
“It also has the potential for big events, or you could even hire out the property for photo shoots,” Mrs Bajada said.
Completed in late 2023, the home includes a guest retreat, sauna, and gym area, along with a triple garage.

The extensive earthworks have also created additional land, offering the potential for future additions.
“We’ve flattened the site into three tiers so you could put in a mini basketball court, a granny flat or a big barn shed,” Mrs Bajada said.
“Having that sort of usable land on a block with these incredible views is really rare.”

Meanwhile, the gardens have been meticulously landscaped and include a stunning mature canary plan that was gifted by the previous owners.
“There are also pandanus trees which give the property a coastal feel,” Mrs Bajada said.
“It’s effective but low maintenance and still lets the view speak for itself.”
Everything was meticulously planned.Palm Hill is going to auction on October 5.
The residence was built as the Bajada’s dream family home, but after the success of the project the young family is now looking for a new challenge.
“We loved watching our vision become a reality,” Mrs Bajada said.
“We really enjoyed the process and are keen to do it again.”
The property is listed with Amir Mian and Justin Haynes of Amir Prestige and is slated to go to auction on October 5.
