Peter Frampton won an Oscar for his makeup artistry on the Mel Gibson film, Braveheart, and owned the Tallebudgera home
A historic Gold Coast Hinterland retreat previously owned by an Oscar winner and a Queensland business icon is set to go under the hammer.
The art-deco-era Queenslander was originally built in the Brisbane suburb of Indooroopilly in 1937 for the prominent lawyer and business icon, Sir Douglas Wadley.
It was relocated to Tallebudgera in the 1990s when it was purchased by BAFTA and Oscar-winning makeup artist Peter Frampton.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on 4ha at 1129 Tallebudgera Dr in Tallebudgera Valley is marketed by Lucy Cole of Lucy Cole Prestige Properties.

He shocked Tinseltown by announcing his retirement while onstage accepting the Oscar for best make-up for Braveheart in 1996.
Mr Frampton and wife Heather relocated to the Gold Coast and set up The Frampton Institute of Cinemagraphic Make-up.

A country-style kitchen opens onto wide decks and the pool beyond, while a baker’s oven doubled as a central fireplace for the home.
