The sale was negotiated by David Lonie of LJ Hooker Southern Gold Coast, who said it attracted multiple offers before selling to a local family. The couple purchased the property in 2021 for $1.2m because of its seclusion and proximity to the Currumbin Alley, a famous surf spot. They have made some minor improvements to the main house since then. Hidden up a long driveway in lush gardens, the property is extremely private, which was part of its appeal, Mr Lonie said. “You’ve got privacy, room around you, a nice big shed for storage or running a business out of, and dual living options, which are always popular,” he said. The property had been advertised for rent for $1950/week prior to the sale. The property has two driveway entrances — one that leads to a three-bay shed with room for another large shed, while the other leads to the main residence and a two-bedroom, self-contained garden flat. The main house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. Inside the Currumbin Valley home, which has undergone minor renovations. There’s also a separate gym and storage area and a granny flat with its own entrance. The location is ideal, being only a seven-minute drive to the beachside cafe scene, a 12-minute drive to the airport and central to shops and schools. Mr Lonie said demand for properties in the area was still strong, but there was a lack of stock. The property also has a gym and granny flat. “The last 12 months has come back a little bit, but places like Currumbin Valley and Palm Beach hold their value pretty well,” he said. Myles and James own a beach house in Cairns and recently also offloaded a three-bedroom apartment in Moorooka in Brisbane for $499,000.
