Buyer enchanted by Play School presenter Noni Hazlehurst’s Queensland home

The next chapter is about to unfold for former Play School presenter Noni Hazlehurst and her “enchanted” Queensland property.

Noni’s estate at Tamborine Mountain, in the heart of the Gold Coast Hinterland, is under offer.

It was scheduled for an auction in December last year. The new year clearly delivered fresh interest in the lovely address, at the end of a “tree-lined avenue”, known as The Gables.

The A Place to Call Home star was reportedly keen to downsize after raising her family there.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom sprawling abode at 194-198 Hartley Road, listed through Rhondda Arentz of Ray White Rural Queensland, is romantic and classically styled.

Offering the utmost of privacy, the property is located behind tall gates and a picket fence.

Described by the agent as having an “enchanted forest feel”, the home is partially hidden behind lush greenery and is close to local cafes and restaurants.

A price guide has not been given and the listing doesn’t disclose the offer. Domain’s latest data reveals the median house price for Tamborine Mountain is $939,500, an increase of 30.5 per cent over 12 months.

Standout features of the property include the outdoor pool and terrace, set amongst manicured gardens, and the “library room”.

Interiors are a mix of old and new with high ceilings, timber floorboards, timber-frame lattice windows and ornate fireplaces.

The kitchen, with its sleek white cabinetry, is perfect for a growing family with its breakfast bar.

Noni starred as a presenter on Play School from 1978 to 2001, and has long been a supporter of children’s charities and events.

She also hosted Better Homes and Gardens from 1995 to 2005, and has appeared on many popular Aussie TV shows including The Box, The Sullivans, City Homicide and A Place to Call Home.
