Move straight into your own piece of Paradise

Serial house flipper Adrienne Porter says the transformation of a 1980s brick home into a modern coastal stunner has been her favourite project to date.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home at 8 Hume Pde, Paradise Point is one of a slew of fresh listings going to auction as Gold Coast agents ramp up for the traditionally busy spring auction season.
PropTrack data names the waterfront suburb as one of the city’s top auction suburbs this month, with 14 properties scheduled to go under the hammer over eight weeks from the start of September.
The home on a 1,037sq m block is marketed by Murray Schmidt, of Professionals – Vertullo Real Estate, and goes to auction next Saturday.
The waterfront home is a standout
The original abode was stripped back to its frame to allow for an imaginative layout maximising light and space.
An existing garage was turned into a guest suite, and striking raked ceilings were crafted.
“I’ve spent the past 14 months and a whole lot of love reinvigorating the home from the ground up,” Ms Porter said.
“It’s been quite a transformation, and it’s also been my biggest project. I designed, styled and staged every facet of it — and even painted a few boundary walls myself too.”
With husband, John Rigley, and their two children, Flynn, 18, and four-year-old Evie, Ms Porter has completed five new builds and four renovations on the Gold Coast.

They currently have four projects underway in addition to Hume Pde, including two architecturally designed standalone residences at Hollywell, a dream home build at Hope Island, and another Hope Island flipper they bought on a whim after being informed the lease on their current rental was ending.
“I really enjoy the creative process of watching a new build go from start to finish, and with the renovators I find it almost cathartic to breathe new life into something old,” she said.
“I feel like I literally draw plans in my sleep.”

Mr Schmidt described the property as a “turn-key home” for buyers wanting a new house with high-end inclusions.
“With the cost of building materials soaring and the wait times for architects and contractors rising, this is a unique chance to acquire a luxury turn-key home that you can move into in 30 days,” he said.
The home has multiple living zones including a private media room and a large family area opening onto a covered entertaining terrace with outdoor kitchen overlooking the pool.
