Gold Coast, Hollywell property sells in seven days, smashes suburb record

3-5 Abel Tasman Place, Hollywell now holds the suburb sales record after selling for $6.2m.
A huge Gold Coast property on the market for the first time in 30 years has sold for a suburb record of $6.2 million.
Kollosche’s Paul Harrison and Michael Kollosche marketed 3-5 Abel Tasman Place, Hollywell, which was snapped up within seven days prior to auction by an interstate buyer.

The sale smashed the suburb record by $450,000 — the previous record was $5.75m, paid for 1 Abel Tasman Place in 2009.
The 1,450sq m block included 36.2m of water frontage and was marketed as “brimming with untapped upside potential”.
The original home included indoor-outdoor living zones, along with three bedrooms and a study.
The block also has a lagoon-inspired pool and pontoon.

It was the first time the property was on the market since 1995.
Mr Harrison said the buyer had no intention of developing the block at this stage.
“It was one of those properties where you’ve got a north-facing double block with a good solid home on it and very close to the open water,” he said.
“It was also a property that ticked quite a few boxes for people and the rarity of the offering added to it.
“Both of the best (potential) buyers were boaties so that was appealing for them.
“The buyer bought it because they want the block, and the house — with some tweaking — will certainly suit their needs.”

Property records show the house last traded in 1995 for $782,000.
Hollywell has recorded strong growth with PropTrack data revealing the median house price is $1.172m, up 10.73 per cent over the past 12 months.
Hollywell is a small suburb on the northern Gold Coast, between Runaway Bay and Paradise Point.
It fronts the Broadwater with large waterfront blocks often tightly held.
