A GOLD Coast real estate agent has turned to reality TV in a bid to show “not all real estate agents are bad”.
Ray White Robina’s Matt Micallef is a contestant on Channel 10’s The Traitors, which hit TV screens earlier this week.
It involves a group of 24 players, known as the “faithful” working through challenges and surviving eliminations to win up to $250,000.

However, there are four “traitors” within the group, whose job is to lie, cheat and eliminate the “faithful”, while remaining undetected.
Mr Micallef, 32, said he was approached by producers to audition for the show.
“I didn’t actually apply, a talent scout approached me via Instagram,” he said.
“My property videos are unique and entertaining, so they obviously saw those and reached out.
“I’m a huge risk taker in life so I just decided to go through the interview process.”

In July, he took part in the filming of the show in Bowral, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.
“The game itself was a great social experiment. I thoroughly enjoyed taking risks and strategizing survival in the game,” he said.
His real estate dealings also ticked on while he was away – his team recorded seven sales over including $2.54 million for a property in Clear Island Waters.
“I’m fortunate to have a really good team behind me who do alot of the heavy lifting,” he said.
“I was actually fortunate to have negotiated the sale of seven properties whilst I was away filming the show.”

According to his Channel 10 bio, Mr Micallef wants to “show the world a new side of his industry”.
“I do think real estate agents get a bad rap but unfortunately a lot of agents don’t have their clients’ best interests at heart,” his bio states.
“One of my favourite sayings in life is there are estate agents and there are real estate agents.”
Mr Micallef is no stranger to crazy stunts.

Last year his property listing at Upper Coomera gained widespread attention after a zany marketing video starring the larger-than-life agent and co-agent Erika Zatyko went viral.
The video featured Mr Micallef as Forrest Goodman — based on the character of White Goodman from the 2004 comedy Dodgeball starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughan.
“Did someone say peaks, or pecs?” Mr Micallef says to camera, jiggling the latter beneath his shiny blue and pink Lycra get-up before ditching the gear to appear naked in the video’s final scene.
