Inside Ruin X at 31 Beaconsfield Dr, Burleigh Waters
Visitors to this one-of-a-kind home where every wall, floor and ceiling is rendered are often lost for words — staring, speechless, at its seamless marble-like finishes.
Named Ruin X, the Burleigh Waters property captured national attention when it last sold for $2,713,888 in March 2022, to a 26-year-old interstate investor who pulled up mid-auction in a Maserati.
But the buyer, Christopher Shao, has listed the statement home at 31 Beaconsfield Dr again after barely setting foot inside.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom property is marketed by Kollosche agents Jonathon Patton and Eoghan Murphy and will go under the hammer on October 13.

It was a renovation project by residential and commercial renderer Matt Jamieson, of Gold Coast company Render X, with his then-partner Emma Sweeny.
The couple collaborated with building designer Jayson Pate to transform the 1990-built house on a 714 sqm lot into a modern-day cave, with the project completed over five months in 2021.
External walls and internal surfaces were entirely rendered in Venetian plaster, complemented by micro-cement floors, while a rare Italian Onyx marble island bench is set against rendered cabinetry in the kitchen.

Custom furniture by Object X and Coco Republic enhance the bold effect, with pieces totalling about $100,000 to be included in the sale.
Mr Patton has received many inquiries from potential interstate buyers, and said the property would suit a “young professional couple or a hip family”.
“The house is like a piece of art,” Mr Patton said.
“People are stargazing when they walk through — they are staring at the ceiling and all of the curves and the Venetian finishes and they don’t really say too much because they are just taking it all in.
“I’ve had multiple inquiries from people in Melbourne and Sydney. It is definitely very unique for up here, but I don’t know if there is another house like it, even in those cities.”
Mr Patton said the home had also served as a popular photoshoot and events location for local brands and influencers, with the north-facing pool area taking on a particularly appealing aura in the afternoon light.
