Dream outlook: Is this Burleigh’s best view?

Is this Burleigh’s best view?
A Gold Coast house marketed as having “Burleigh’s best view” is set to go under the hammer.
Sellers Toni and Stuart Derbyshire bought 79 George St Central, Burleigh Heads in September, 2020, instantly attracted to the outlook it offered.
The view stretches north to Surfers Paradise.
The view changes depending on the season.
The house rises four levels.
Built over four levels into a hill, the four-bedroom showstopper offers views of the ocean, city skyline and bushland from every level.
“We were sold on the views, they are absolutely stunning,” Mrs Derbyshire said.
“They are different every day depending on the season and the time of day.
“The sunrise in the morning is beautiful but the sunsets are also stunning.
“We’ve got the city view of Surfers Paradise and then the full nature view of Burleigh Headlands.”
The top level is the “family hub”.
The terrace on the top level is a family favourite.

The couple, who has three daughters, said the proximity to James Street’s restaurant and cafe scene was also a major drawcard.
“Everything is at our fingertips,” Mrs Derbyshire said.
“You’re a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle yet you can’t hear any of it.”
The kitchen, dining and terrace on the top floor.
The family installed a new kitchen.
The family has injected new life into the house, modernising the residence and installing a new kitchen and bathrooms.
“We bought the house as a bit of a project — it was just very tired and unloved,” Mrs Derbyshire said.
The top floor is the hub of the home with the kitchen, living and dining zone that opens via bi-fold doors to the terrace.
High ceilings and casement windows allow plenty of natural light to flow through this level.
The pool table is on the second floor.
The kitchenette is on the second level.
A games lounge with kitchenette and media room is on the second level, and provides a great area to entertain.
“We had out daughter’s 21st a couple of years ago and we had about 80 people on that level,” she said.
There are three bedrooms and as study on the third level while a fourth bedroom is on the second level. The first level has an office or retreat that opens to a terrace and pool.
There is even a view from the pool.
The garage and entry is on the top level.
Other features include a lift, wine cellar, gas fireplace and firepit.
“In the winter beneath the pool area we have this cool little rainforest and firepit down there,” Mrs Derbyshire said.
“It’s so green and lush down here you could really be anywhere.”
The couple said it was bittersweet to sell but would downsize and look for another project.
The property goes to auction via Ed Cherry of Harcourts Coastal on February 10.
