Dilapidated Qlder estate comes with $800k mega shed

mega shed behind an old Queenslander for sale at Currumbin Valley
THE Queenslander home on this block is unliveable — but who needs a house when you have an $800,000 mega shed down the back?
Inquiries are flooding in for the unique Currumbin Valley listing comprising a dilapidated cottage along with a state-of-the-art 42m by 24m powered shed.
The 4ha acreage estate at 1048 Currumbin Creek Rd is marketed via an expressions of interest campaign with Rhys Wildermoth and Glenna Watkins, of Belle Property.
With its all-black exterior and extra-high access for large machinery or equipment, the shed easily overshadows the 1940-built three-bedroom original house in front.

Property records show owner Shaun Mellish purchased the land for $1.03m in December 2017, with a DA for the shed noted one year later.
Mr Wildermoth said the owner had to date invested $800,000 on building and fitting out the shed.
He said the listing had attracted strong interest from people searching for a base for their home business, as well as from tree-changers wanting the space and infrastructure to “tinker with cars”.
The shed would suit use as a trades workshop or for storage requirements, while its mezzanine-level loft bedroom and provisions for a kitchen and bathroom offered scope for accommodation.

Plenty of space to build a dream home
“Every man loves his shed — probably most not quite to this extreme. This one is like an aircraft hangar,” Mr Wildermoth said.
Mr Wildermoth said the old house, though in “dire condition”, had also drawn inquiries from buyers interested in relocating it to another location.
“This is a premier opportunity to build your dream house as well as an incredible shed for a workshop or trades,” the listing states.
“Offering the perfect blend of open green space, rolling hills and mature greenery, there is an original Queenslander onsite, well-loved for many years, but now ready to make way for your dream design.”
