Burleigh Hamptons Pad has sold to a prize home charity
A luxurious Burleigh Hamptons home rented out for up to $3,000 a day for photoshoots and TV productions has recorded one of the suburb’s highest sales after it was snapped up by a prize home charity for $3.325m.
The big-ticket sale of 1 Dachick Dr to the national Yourtown charity settled Monday, notching up the fourth highest residential sale price in the renovator’s haven of Burleigh Waters.
Known as the Burleigh Hamptons Pad, the striking property on a 822sq m block was marketed by Troy Fitzgerald, of Ray White.
Those who coveted the home’s glamorous coastal design but shied from the multimillion dollar price tag could now have another shot at ownership, once it’s promoted as a prize home by the new, not-for-profit owners.
The light-filled kitchen flows to outdoors
But you’ll need luck on your side, with 500,000 tickets costing $15 each allocated per draw.
Mr Fitzgerald said the home would be styled with new funiture and landscaped before it was promoted as a major prize drawn later this year.
“I think with a house like that, they’ll see tons of tickets,” he said.
Vendors Danielle and Shaun Clayton designed their 2020-built house to showcase classic elements of the Hamptons exterior style with a casual coastal twist inside.
“Shaun and I are truly grateful that our Burleigh Hamptons Pad ticked all the boxes to be a prize home,” Ms Clayton said.
“We already support this charity and can’t wait to purchase some tickets in this draw.”
The couple made a lucrative return renting out their aspirational home for advertising and fashion photoshoots and TV commercials, earning up to $3,000 for a full-day production.
Custom fireplace in the living area of the single-level home
The outdoor entertaining area with pool and cabana was particularly sought by swimwear designers and lifestyle brands; while the property was featured in a current campaign for insurer, Terri Scheer.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom property was one of QLD’s most viewed homes when it was first listed for auction in November 2021, but the top bid on the day of $3.25 million fell short of the vendors’ expectations.
It was re-listed with a different agency in March and sold within two weeks.
Mr Fitzgerald said 25 groups inspected the property, with three offers received prior to its sale.
High raked ceilings and skylights
It’s a picture-perfect family home
Away from the cameras, the property was a functional family home for the couple and their two young daughters, Isla and Mia, designed to maximise light year-round through an open-plan design, 5m high raked ceilings and skylights.
The kitchen leads from the indoor living spaces onto covered hardwood decking outside. It has a butler’s pantry as well as a 3.5m Calcutta marble stone island bench and rattan pendant lights overhead.
High-end finishes throughout include light engineered timber flooring and French doors, while a freestanding wood fireplace on the ground floor is surrounded by Santorini stone. The same freeform stone features outside, where a custom gatehouse completes the home’s striking entry.
