“When I studied at NIDA, one of the first things I was taught is that being an actor is like running your own small business,” she said.
“And that proved to be so true.
“You need to learn those skills in the same way you need to learn and hone the craft of acting.
“It’s a creative endeavour, but it requires business skills as well.”

The pandemic threw a curveball at Australian production companies, and in turn Emily’s acting career, forcing her to reassess.
Emily undertook a Diploma of Nursing and began a new role as a nurse, working through the pandemic.

Eskell said trust and a genuine intention to help people were key.
“Of course, there are times when you need to be very direct and tough in order to get your clients what they want, but I really believe people are looking for a more human experience where they are heard and treated with respect, no matter what the circumstances,” she said.
“Working in the southern Gold Coast areas is so exciting. It’s the absolute best part of the Gold Coast in my opinion and it’s a real thrill to be part of the industry here.
“Despite the changes happening across the national property market, we are seeing such interest and strength in our local market and it’s really pleasing to be achieving great results for our clients.”
Eskell currently has four listings including a four-bedroom house in Banora and a Tweed Heads unit.
